Kitrino
This project was completed in one month during the Spring of 2024 at Parsons School of Design.
Named “Kitrino”, after the Greek word for “yellow,” I created a tableware set by making plaster molds of positives I hand-threw on the wheel. The goal was to design a set of products that could be produced and potentially sold, aligning with the project’s entrepreneurial scope.
I chose to make one-part molds from wheel-thrown pieces because I wanted the final products to retain a handmade aesthetic. This approach ensured that the tableware would have a natural, imperfect charm, unlike the overly pristine look that might result from using CNC-machined or 3D-printed parts.
