hand-thrown ceramics

I worked on this project throughout the Spring of 2024 at Parsons School of Design as a side project, with the goal of improving my wheel-throwing skills. Along the way, I developed a deep appreciation for speckled clay—its playful character and raw honesty became something I grew to love.

To complement the natural beauty of the speckle, I chose yellow and creamy white glazes, which I felt allowed the material to shine. The forms I created varied in size and shape, as I wanted to stay open to experimentation while focusing on refining my throwing technique. I also practiced pulling handles and attaching them to mugs, which helped me expand the range of work I could create.
