KYMA

This project was completed within a two-week period, in the Spring of 2023 at Parsons School of Design.

Named “Kyma” after the Greek word for “wave”, the base of the luminaire is a carved white oak with a wax and oil finish, while the shade is made of toned tan paper, allowing for a warm glow to radiate through.

When undertaking this project I aimed to create a clean, organic and sophisticated luminaire with a playful twist, that added a subtle warmth and depth to a space.
