During the Fall of 2023 at Parsons School of Design, I created an upholstered bench. This was a fast-paced project, with three weeks to  sketch, prototype, model and develop our final product.

For this project I drew inspiration from caterpillars and wanted to create a form similar to their body, with an upholstered slip seat slumped over my main plywood base.  Since the fabric I chose was so textured and busy, I decided to keep the Baltic Plywood un-stained. As this is a bench designed for the entryway, the non-upholstered portion on the top of the bench is meant for temporarily placing items such as your keys, wallet and more.
