mr picky

I completed this project within five weeks in the Autumn of 2024 as part of my Master’s program at Imperial and RCA. The module tasked us with exploring how physical computing, connected systems, and machine learning could tackle complex problems, whilst encouraging us to investigate the potentials and limitations of tools like Wekinator and Arduino to predict information in a design-led innovation context.

This project, titled “Mr. Picky”, was a collaborative effort with my classmates Juwon Jung and Xiangnan Wu. Together, we created a fully functional robot powered by Arduino and machine learning, designed to judge whether or not users are properly recycling your rubbish. By combining humour with accountability, Mr. Picky encourages better recycling habits in an engaging and memorable way.
