VÄXT is a modular product family designed to bridge IKEA's furniture and plant departments, expanding their portfolio while working within their existing design language. Developed through in-store research and close observation of how customers were already adapting storage furniture into plant displays, the system centres on a wall-mounted vertical unit with a series of attachable components including LED grow lights, a self-watering pot, a display tray, and a range of planters, all in anodised aluminium and sold separately. A companion humidifier with integrated placeholders responds to the popularity of small potted succulents in store, encouraging users to replant their succulents into a healthier environment, with humidity alone sufficient to care for the plants without additional watering.
