BROMPTON DESIGN COMPETITION
Awarded one of three prizes in a semester-long open competition run in partnership between Parsons School of Design and Brompton. Research into the cleanliness of folding bikes revealed that a bicycle harbours around 12,000 times more bacteria than a toilet seat, concentrated at touchpoints that only become relevant when folding the bike indoors. The response is an entryway furniture piece that stores and disinfects the Brompton using UV-C technology, alongside a Bike Wash station proposed for Brompton Junction stores. Developed in collaboration with Phoebe Mak.
