Casted Luminaire

A table lamp developed through slip casting in white stoneware. The process began with a hand-built plaster positive, cast into a two-part mould that allowed the form to be reproduced multiple times. After bisque firing, glazing, and a second firing, the ceramic piece was wired into a functioning luminaire. The project was as much about understanding the full arc of a making process as it was about the object itself.
